What's on your reading list?

I read. Well, okay, I don't just read. I read A LOT. More than the average person I think.

Now I want to know what you've been reading. Recommend a book to me. Give me a new list to start on, something I've never picked up before.

I'll post about each of the books I read and give credit to the person that suggested it...cause this is my blog, and I can.

Ever read any graphic novels? Here are four recommendations from that category:

Watchmen by Alan Moore & Dave Gibbons. Probably the best story ever told in this format.

The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller & Lynn Varley. Probably the best Batman story ever told.

300 also by Frank Miller. This is the novel that inspired the film. The artwork is amazing.

Kingdom Come by Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross. A beautifully-painted look at a grim future where superheroes have become the enemy of the common man.

Enjoy!

I just finished Because They Hate by Brigitte Gabriel. A very good read.

I'm currently reading a Christina Dodd book. Historical Romance. She's good.

For my book club I'll be reading, as soon as I get it, Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella. It looks like a cute read. There's a whole Shopaholic series apparently.

I also love everything Nora Roberts. She also writes the in Death series under the name J.D. Robb. I highly suggest that series. There are 20 something books in that series so far. The first one is Naked in Death. I'd start there and see what you think.

Those are my suggestions. :)

Not sure what types of novels you enjoy or whether, like me, you were reading the side of the cereal box while you ate breakfast when you were little (I'll still read virtually anything)...

I recommend:

Little Children by Tom Perrotta (ignore the movie, read the book...one of my all-time favorites because, if you've ever lived in the 'burbs, you know how honest it is...and if I had a book group, I'd demand we spend a full year discussing this one book)

The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls

The Bride Stripped Bare by Nikki Gemmell

Peace Kills by P.J. O'Rourke (I'm almost finished with this one and it's fantastically funny and scary)

Thanks everyone! Surprisingly enough, there isn't one book that's been recommended that I've read already. I look forward to trying them out, especially the graphic novels...I've never read any before.

I'm reading This Is Not Chick Lit - original stories by America's best women writers. Good stuff, so far. Recently read Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman, which I lurved (and I am not generally a big SciFi/fantasy/horror fan). Have Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman by Murakami waiting next.

I'm supposed to have read Towelhead by Alicia Erian for my bookclub tonight, but I have not yet started it. It looks fantastic, though.

Also, Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously by Julia Powell. The book came out of a blog, and it is quite good so far.
